Quordle archive

Quordle is four Wordle boards running at once with nine guesses to cover all of them, so the skill is not solving a grid: it is spending the opening guesses on letter coverage and refusing to chase one answer while three others go cold. We give letter facts and a hint for each of the four words, revealed separately. The archive is for working out which board was the one that finished you.

How Quordle works

Four Wordle boards solved at once, with nine guesses shared between all of them. Every word you enter is played on all four boards simultaneously and colored separately on each, so a guess that looks wasted on the board you are watching can be the one that cracks another. The arithmetic is unforgiving: four five-letter answers against nine attempts leaves almost no room to chase a hunch.

What a dated page holds

All four answers for that date, each set in letter tiles with the hint we published for it. They are laid out as four separate blocks rather than one list, because the boards really are four separate puzzles and the question worth asking about a lost day is which single board went wrong.

What builds up here

Quordle punishes a weak opening more than any other daily game on this site, and past dates are where that is testable. Take an old set of four answers, run your usual first two guesses against them on paper, and count the letters you would have placed. A few dates of that is enough to change the opener most people default to.
