Why players ask
WO is a variant spelling of woe, and it is on the word lists despite looking like a typo. It is the main two-letter home for the W, which at four points is worth placing deliberately rather than dumping. On a double-letter square under the W, WO scores nine for two tiles, and it will usually form a second word in parallel as well.
